Basic Tour - 1 hour

On the Martin House Basic Tour you will visit the main floor of the Martin House (1903-05) as well as the pergola, conservatory and carriage house, as your docent unravels Frank Lloyd Wright’s genius in creating intricate harmonies in architecture. The tour will underscore timeless themes of daring, vision and American spirit in Wright’s creation of this home – what he called a “domestic symphony” for Darwin D. Martin and his family.

In-Depth Tour - 2 hours

The two-hour In-Depth tour will take you to all the spaces included on the Basic Tour, plus the second floor of the Martin House, the Barton House (1903) and the Gardener’s Cottage (1909) with all the same themes narrated by your docent. These tours take a more leisurely pace around the complex so that you can absorb the ambience of the spaces and take time to appreciate the details. Your docent will expand on the Martin/Wright story to provide even greater context to this architectural masterpiece.
